Parking Options for Visitors
SDSU offers several visitor parking options for hourly, daily and short-term parking needs. Visitor parking stalls are unmarked. Visitor lots have a "P" on the lot marker sign. Visitors may not park in spaces marked for Service/Vendor (S/V), Special Permit (SP), Electric Vehicle (EV), or Disabled Person (DP) unless accompanied by a special permit, DMV placard/plate, or are actively charging in an EV space. Purchase of a permit requires vehicle information since the permit is virtual and is linked to the license plate.
Visitors may purchase parking permits using the following options:
Daily-choice parking can be a more affordable alternative to purchasing monthly or semester parking. The daily-choice parking rate will be $4.75 per day (including fees) in four parking areas, Parking Structure 3, Parking Structure 4, Parking Lot 17/17A/17B, and Parking Lot 15. This rate is available exclusively through the PayByPhone app/website.
Note: you cannot use this rate to park outside of P3, P4, P15, or P17 areas and it is not valid in any Faculty-Staff designated areas. Vehicles that pay in these zones but park outside of the areas are subject to citation. Time restrictions in EV charging areas still apply.
Hourly and daily permits are available. Parking time extensions are available via your mobile device without returning to your vehicle.

A guest account is required to purchase a day permit (valid 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m) through the transportation portal. The cost is $10.11. Visitors can only purchase two (2) permits, max, at a time.
